What To Check On A Jewellery Bill

Use this checklist before accepting the invoice for your jewellery purchase.

Check the article description and quantity.
Check the net precious-metal weight used for billing.
Check the purity / fineness shown on the bill.
Check the gold rate used for the calculation.
Check making, wastage and stone charges separately.
Check the tax amount and final invoice total.
Does this tool tell me whether a bill is correct?
It checks the arithmetic based on the figures you enter. A difference does not automatically mean a seller has made an error because the invoice may include product-specific pricing, discounts, taxes or commercial terms that are not represented in the inputs.
What is effective price per gram?
Effective price per gram is the billed total divided by the entered net gold weight. It is a simple way to understand the all-in cost relative to the precious-metal weight.
Can I check diamond jewellery?
Yes. Enter the diamond or stone amount in the Stone / Diamond Charges field. The calculator will include it in the taxable amount before GST.
Should I keep the jewellery invoice?
Yes. Keep the original invoice or bill with the jewellery purchase records. It is useful for future reference, exchange, resale, warranty or complaint handling, depending on the transaction.
